Day 3 - Jenn

I woke up this mornig to the most wonderful songbirds whose tunes wove themselves into my dream of swimming with dinosaurs while on a Hawaiian dream date with Brett Michaels. Neo air does wonders. We all agreed to take an easy day today after being beaten up by 24 miles in 8.5 hours, maybe we would do 14 or 15. Wind greeted us at the trailhead with expansive views of the desert, and fears of what we would be soon walking through. Somewhat fustrated, equally invigorated we pushed through the wind and wonderful regrowth areas as we swooped around to chaparral and boulder fields, leaving the desert behind with a sigh of relief. I lost Matt for a bit while he worked himself out of a dark spot and we soon met up with a group of hikers at a water source which consisted of a water trough with dead floaty bugs. We filtered and filled up before pushing onto the most beautiful camp spot on top of a water tank sheltered from the wind. Our easy day turned into a 20 miler and we were down as soon as the moon rose. Amazing.
